Basics: How to create a facebook business page

Segment 1: Use your logo or a picture of you for your profile image. If your business is you then you might want to use a photograph of you. Keep the pictures clear and simple.

Segment 2: Cover photo. For your cover, use an image to show off your key products, services or campaigns. Keep logo and information in the middle. Use quality images and use a free tool such as www.canva.com.

Segment 3: Write a description with key words. Tell your story clearly. Reflect your brand. Tell customers what to expect. You have 155 characters- use them, they show on Google.

Segment 4: Create a call to action button. There are a variety of options here, depending on what you would like your customer to do. Do you want your prospects to book an appointment/watch a video, send an instant message or email

Segment 5: Create a unique username that will be the end part of your url and this is also how people will tag you. It also helps to be consistent with other social media channels. The URL will show eg: facebook.com/doodledesigns. Keep it short but that people recognise. This isn’t the place to use a new abbreviation.

Segment 6: Take a good look through your settings and make sure they are set-up so your customers can like, share and comment. Set-up messenger and allow posts on page. Tick the similar page suggestion box so facebook can recommend your page. You’re nearly there!

Segment 7: Recommendations: Make the most of recommendations. When a customer clicks on this, facebook will ask if they recommend the page yes/no. Then there is the space to add tags/photos/text

Segment 8: Start creating and building your followers and create your first post. Think about your strategy and content. Start using Facebook Creative Studio
